Evaluation of a Computer Based Training Module: Español for Law Enforcement

Español for Law Enforcement

The JSC and Advanced Systems Technology, Inc. (AST) developed Español for Law Enforcement, a Computer-Based Training (CBT) guide for law enforcement officers. Funded by the National Institute of Justice, Office of Science and Technology, this CBT guide was designed to equip law enforcement officers with basic Spanish language skills. The modules within Español for Law Enforcement teaches officers the language necessary to provide and/or take basic descriptions of individuals, communicate arrest commands, and conduct interrogations, traffic stops, and domestic violence investigations. In addition to the development of the CD, the JSC has conducted an evaluation on the effectiveness of CBT compared to traditional lecture-based training (LBT).
