The Enhancement of Community Policing:
Using Web Pages and the Internet to Implement and Enhance Community Policing
This project, funded by the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, U.S. Department of Justice, will identify best practices and other interesting examples of police agency use of web sites and the internet to implement and enhance community policing. The focus is on finding and describing specific examples of how police agencies are using the world-wide web to implement community engagement, problem solving, and other fundamental aspects of COP. The result will be a COP guidebook that explains, in everyday language, how departments can use their web sites to do more than present electronic brochures.
