The Enhancement of Community Policing:
Community Policing for State Police Agencies
This project, funded by the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, U.S. Department of Justice, focuses on community policing for state police agencies in two ways: (1) By documenting the current state of adoption of community policing among state agencies, and (2) By identifying promising and best community policing practices among state agencies. The first effort will produce a research report of value to the police field in general, state police agencies in particular, and the OCOPS. The second effort will produce a guidebook that can be used by state police officials, and other state-level officials, to expand and enhance their adoption of community policing.
