Airport Security Technology Evaluations

The Justice and Safety Center is collaborating with the National Safe Skies Alliance on the operational testing of airport security equipment.  The National Safe Skies Alliance was established to assist the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other agencies in meeting evolving needs in aviation security by supplying affordable, verified solutions to problems identified by the aviation community.

In addition to testing, the JSC is responsible for the collection of baseline data, data on the efficiency and effectiveness of the new security technology, and the development of a Checkpoint Data Collection Plan.  The Plan will be standardized for use at airports throughout the country.
