International Justice and Safety Institute (IJSI)

The goal of the IJSI is to enhance and extend the international reputation of the College of Justice & Safety at Eastern Kentucky University.

Objectives/Activities

  • Recruit international students to the College of Justice & Safety.
  • Encourage College of Justice & Safety students to obtain international experiences.
  • Develop and support faculty exchanges between international universities and the College of Justice and Safety.
  • Develop and support international and comparative research projects involving College of Justice and Safety faculty.
  • Develop and support joint research and development projects in concert with the Justice and Safety Center’s technology and new economy initiatives.
  • Develop and support partnerships between international universities and the College.
  • Develop and support international training and technical assistance projects involving the College.
  • Organize and coordinate international justice and safety conferences and colloquia at Eastern Kentucky University and at partner organizations.
  • Develop and support relationships between the College and international and U.S. agencies that promote international understanding and democratization.
